The Interactive Robots and Media Laboratory (IRML) was founded in September 2007, originally at the United Arab Emirates University, and then moved on to New York University. It is currently expanding in other locations, such as IRML Greece in Athens.

About Us

The founder and director of the lab is Dr. Nikolaos Mavridis, who had been awarded his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Laboratory. The lab currently has more than 3 faculty members affiliated with it, many students taking part in its projects, as well as international interns. There are also numerous open possibiities for faculty, postdocs, visiting or permanent graduate students, as well as internships. Prospective students can get in touch via email. Summer Workshop

The Interactive Robots and Media Laboratory (IRML) was founded in September 2007, originally at the United Arab Emirates University, and then moved on to New York University. It is currently expanding in other locations, such as IRML Greece in Athens.

The summer-school will be Research-Centered, with a strong focus on mini-projects, with multiple teams of 3-5 students including a mix of academic levels (Postdoc, PhD, undergrad). Selected seminars and lectures will also take place. There will be free accommodation as well as air tickets for a limited number of applicants with excellent qualifications. Applicants can be at postdoctoral, graduate, and also undergraduate level. To apply, please send CV as well as names and information of three Referees to nmav@alum.mit.edu.
